Job Overview
New York City Public Schools (NYCPS) seeks a full‑time School Psychologist to work on site in Staten Island, NY. The psychologist will assess the psychological and educational needs of students and collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to support academic achievement and emotional well‑being.
Role DescriptionThe School Psychologist will be responsible for administering and interpreting psychological assessments, developing individualized education plans, and providing support for students dealing with mental health or behavioral challenges.
Qualifications- Expertise in Psychology and Psychological Assessment, including administering and interpreting tests to evaluate cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning.
- Strong understanding of evidence‑based interventions and strategies.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, educators, and families.
- Master’s or Doctorate degree in School Psychology.
- Certification or licensure in School Psychology as required by New York State.
- Prior experience working in a school setting or with school‑aged children is an advantage.
