The School of Management at the New York Institute of Technology (New York Tech) invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor in Finance to join our NYIT-SOM faculty team starting Fall 2025. The School of Management is AACSB accredited and offers

several undergraduate and graduate business programs. Salary is competitive and the position is subject to budget approval.

Responsibilities include publishing in scholarly journals, teaching courses in Finance at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and service to the university and the academic and external community. All areas of research expertise in Finance will be considered. Preference will be

given to candidates expressing interest and willingness to teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in two or more areas including, investments, corporate finance, financial modeling,

financial analytics, and financial technology The ideal candidate must have enthusiasm for developing and delivering innovative courses in the intersection of finance and technology.

This position will require faculty to teach in-person at our New York City and Long Island

Campuses. Experience and/or willingness to teach in online platforms is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities
Teaching:
Develop and deliver undergraduate and graduate courses in finance, with a focus on Fin Tech topics such as digital currencies, blockchain technology, financial data analytics, and

innovative financial products. Employ innovative teaching methods to enhance student learning and engagement.

Research:
Conduct high-quality, impactful research in Finance, preferably in the areas of

Fin Tech, and financial analytics leading to publications in high quality academic journals. Foster interdisciplinary research opportunities and collaborations within the university and with external partners.

Curriculum Development:
Contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of the

finance curriculum to incorporate emerging trends and technologies in Fin Tech and financial analytics.

Service:
Participate in departmental, college, and university committees. Engage with industry professionals and contribute to community outreach activities related to finance and technology.

Education:

A Ph.D. in Finance or related field with a focus on Fin Tech and Financial Analytics. Candidates who are ABD (All but Dissertation) will be considered if they can demonstrate progress towards completion. Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CFTP, CFA, CBP, CISA,) are preferred.

Skills:

Familiarity with financial technologies, data analytics tools, and programming languages relevant to the field (e.g., Python, R, SQL) is desirable.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct rigorous research and engage in interdisciplinary collaboration.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to present complex ideas clearly and effectively.
