Schedule: Monday through Friday, Standard School Hours

A school in Brooklyn is seeking a skilled and compassionate Reading Specialist to support students in developing strong literacy skills. The Reading Specialist will work closely with students, teachers, and administration to provide targeted reading instruction, assess literacy needs, and implement effective intervention strategies to improve reading comprehension, fluency, and overall academic success.

• Provide individualized and small-group reading instruction to students
• Assess student reading levels and identify areas for intervention
• Develop and implement literacy intervention plans aligned with school curriculum
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to support literacy instruction and strategies
• Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, progress, and interventions
• Communicate effectively with parents and staff regarding student progress
• Participate in team meetings, professional development, and school initiatives

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Reading, Literacy, or a related field (required)
• Teaching certification or Reading Specialist certification preferred
• Experience working with elementary-aged students preferred
• Strong knowledge of literacy development and intervention strategies
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within a school setting
