Position SummaryThe Lead Toddler Teacher is responsible for leading a toddler classroom and implementing developmentally appropriate learning experiences aligned with The Learning Experience curriculum. This role requires an energetic, patient, and experienced educator who understands toddler behavior, routines, and the importance of guidance, consistency, and emotional support.
Key Responsibilities- Create a safe, engaging, and nurturing classroom environment for toddlers
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate, hands‑on learning activities aligned with The Learning Experience curriculum
- Support toddlers’ social‑emotional development, communication, and independence
- Establish and maintain consistent daily routines (meals, toileting/diapering, rest, transitions)
- Use positive guidance and age‑appropriate behavior management strategies
- Observe, document, and assess children’s developmental progress
- Maintain open, professional communication with families
- Supervise and mentor assistant teachers in the classroom
- Ensure compliance with state licensing regulations, health, and safety standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and engaging learning environment
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development
- Minimum of 2–3 years of experience working with toddlers in a licensed childcare or early learning center
- Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or currently enrolled in an ECE associate’s degree program
- Strong understanding of toddler development, behavior, and classroom management
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills
- Patient, energetic, and nurturing teaching style
- Ability to meet all state and center background clearance requirements
- A teacher who is passionate about working with toddlers
- Someone who values structure, consistency, and emotional safety
- A confident classroom leader who can guide toddlers through routines and transitions
- A team player who collaborates effectively with families and staff
