Position SummaryThe Assistant Preschool Teacher works closely with the Lead Teacher to support daily classroom activities, routines, and learning experiences. This role is ideal for a dependable early childhood professional who enjoys working with young children, collaborating with a teaching team, and helping maintain a structured, engaging classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities- Support the Lead Teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and classroom activities
- Assist in creating and maintaining a safe, organized, and engaging learning environment
- Support children’s social‑emotional development, communication, and independence
- Assist with daily routines including meals, toileting, transitions, and rest time
- Supervise children at all times to ensure safety
- Use positive guidance and age‑appropriate behavior support strategies
- Help observe and document children’s progress as directed by the Lead Teacher
- Maintain professional and respectful communication with team members
- Follow all state licensing regulations, health, and safety procedures
- Assist with classroom organization, materials, and cleanliness
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a Preschool or Early Childhood Education setting
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Understanding of preschool‑age development and classroom routines
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Reliable, patient, and team‑oriented
- Ability to meet all state and center background clearance requirements
- A caring professional who enjoys supporting young children’s learning
