Program Context
Power Tools, LLC is a NYC-based educational consulting firm that partners with schools, government agencies, and businesses to support social emotional (academic) learning, effective leadership and teaming, career-connected learning, restorative practices, and youth development. We are committed to creating affirming, inclusive spaces grounded in equity, care, and connection.
Power Tools is facilitating a school‑day youth program at a NYC public school serving 7th–11th graders in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn
. The program runs from late January through April 2026 and consists of 20 in‑person sessions across two weekly cohorts. Each group spans multiple grades (7‑9 and 9‑11), with a maximum of 20 students per session. This program is created to foster a sense of belonging and school connectedness for students who may feel disengaged from school. Since attendance is optional, students have agency to participate if they choose, and our goal is for youth to find our program to be a space that welcomes, engages, and sparks joy in these students.
Sessions are pre‑planned, with an opportunity for a facilitator to adapt as needed or desired (in collaboration with Power Tools).
Power Tools is seeking a Youth Program Facilitator to lead/facilitate 20 in‑person (45 minute) sessions during the school day that include ritualized themes of discussions, art‑based projects, games, and group challenges. The Facilitator will create a welcoming, engaging environment where students feel safe, valued, and connected. This role requires strong group facilitation skills, responsiveness to youth needs, and the ability to build authentic relationships with adolescents.
In addition to facilitating sessions, the Facilitator will collaborate with Power Tools staff and school‑based partners to support program implementation and reflect on student engagement. This program will take place on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 12‑1 pm from late January through April 2026.
