Overview

Adjunct Faculty, New Media at LIM College is a part-time role teaching writing for new media as part of the undergraduate Fashion Media degree program.

LIM College, founded in 1939 and located in midtown Manhattan, is a female-led institution focused on the global business of fashion and lifestyle. The college emphasizes experiential learning and internships, preparing students for career success.

The successful candidate will have experience teaching hands-on courses in journalism (feature or news writing), storytelling, or digital media. LIM College seeks industry professionals who can bring current knowledge of the New York City media industry into the classroom. Hands-on, active teaching methods that engage undergraduates and effectively integrate learning management platforms (Canvas, Blackboard, etc.) are preferred.

Requirements: The person selected will have the following qualifications:

• Master’s degree in journalism, media studies, or related fields (Ph.D. preferred)
• Minimum of 2 – 3 years of teaching experience in related fields
• Demonstrated ability to engage students using active learning
• Experience using learning management software for course delivery and grading (Canvas knowledge preferred)
