Meaningful school-based role supporting students ages 3-21, with a Monday-Friday daytime schedule, strong benefits, union representation, and work that directly builds student independence.We are a specialized school serving children and young adults who are blind or visually impaired, including students with additional disabilities.
We are hiring an Orientation and Mobility Specialist to provide direct instruction and consultation in a school-based setting. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:15 AM-3:15 PM, during the academic year with an extended summer program.

- Provide individual Orientation and Mobility instruction to students who are blind or visually impaired
- Develop IEP goals, reports, and progress documentation
- Evaluate and monitor student progress
- Teach safe, independent travel and environmental navigation skills
- Modify O&M instruction, materials, and techniques based on each student’s age and abilities
- Current ACVREP Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (COMS) or National Orientation and Mobility Certification (NOMC)
- At least 1 year of experience guiding visually impaired individuals in safe, independent travel
- Experience with school-aged or pediatric students with blindness, visual impairment, or additional disabilities preferred
