The Spence School is seeking a full-time leave replacement in Middle and Upper School Visual Arts. This position offers the opportunity to join a dynamic team of multidisciplinary artists who guide students through a curriculum grounded in artistic technique and experimentation. The ideal candidate is a practicing artist and lifelong learner with a collaborative spirit and a passion for teaching students how artmaking can be a transformative experience for themselves and their community.

• Teach three Middle and Upper School Visual Arts classes, including general art, printmaking, and sculpture.
• Other duties and responsibilities in Middle and Upper School
• Share in the responsibilities for maintaining the ceramics studio.
• Participate in department-wide initiatives addressing equity, pedagogy, and curriculum.
• Cultivate and maintain a classroom culture of openness, mutual respect, kindness, and inquiry.

• Has sustained experience teaching visual arts to middle and/or upper school students in a range of media.
• Enjoys working with middle and upper school students and participating in school life.
