The guidance counselor/transition coordinator leave replacement will be responsible to provide support and assistance to counsel students in resolving personal, educational, and career concerns. The guidance counselor/transition coordinator helps students learn behavior, subject matter, and/or skills that will contribute to their personal development. This includes the following:
Assist in planning guidance programs and pupil personnel services.
Provide individual and group counseling for personal, educational, and career guidance.
Act as consultant to, confers, and communicates with parents and staff in reference to the student’s growth and development. Counselors also play a vital role in developing the school’s and individual schedules as well as documenting student progress towards graduation requirements.
NYS Guidance Counselor Certification required. Prior experience in school setting preferred.
