Special Education Teacher

Full-Time | Permanent

Location:Midtown WestNY 10023
Start:2026–2027 School Year

Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction that meets the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of students with diverse learning profiles.
• Develop and implement standards-aligned lesson plans while ensuring instruction is individualized to support each student's IEP goals.
• Create a structured, inclusive classroom environment that promotes student independence, confidence, and academic growth.
• Write and monitor IEP goals, collect data, track student progress, and prepare required documentation.
• Collaborate closely with general education teachers, therapists, counselors, and families to ensure students receive comprehensive support.
• Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies and classroom management techniques to maximize student engagement and achievement.

Qualifications:

• New York State Special Education Certification.
• Experience teaching students with a variety of learning differences and disabilities.
• Strong knowledge of IEP development, progress monitoring, and differentiated instruction.
• Excellent classroom management and collaboration skills.
• Experience in an independent or private school setting is a plus.
