Qualifications and

Experience:

Current NYSED Certification in Spanish 7-12, meeting the requirements for high school instruction
Proven skills as a general education teacher or experience teaching Spanish in a high school setting
Fingerprinted through the NYS Department of Education (or willingness to complete this process prior to start)
Ability to develop engaging, effective lessons that cater to diverse learning styles
Strong communication and classroom management abilities
Passion for fostering a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports language acquisition and cultural appreciation

Role Responsibilities:

Deliver high-quality Spanish instruction to high school students, promoting both language proficiency and cultural awareness
Develop lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and support student progress
Employ a variety of teaching strategies and resources to meet individual learning needs
Assess student performance through projects, assessments, and participation
Collaborate with colleagues and school staff to create a supportive, engaging school community
Participate in school activities, professional development opportunities, and required meetings
