Early Childhood Teacher

Carney, Sandoe & Associates, an education recruitment organization, is currently seeking a Early Childhood Lead Teacher for an immediate start at a Montessori school in Catskill, NY.

• Plan lessons according to Montessori curriculum for students age 3-6
• Identify children who may need additional support and collaborate with early childhood staff to determine appropriate resources and next steps.
• Create and maintain weekly lesson plans using Transparent Classroom.
• Observe and monitor student progress to identify individual needs and support continued growth and development.
• Communicate with parents regarding student progress and behavior.
• Supervise and support Assistant Teachers through weekly meetings, collaborative lesson planning, and ongoing communication to ensure effective classroom support and instruction.
• Model strong classroom leadership and implementation of the Montessori curriculum while providing constructive feedback and guidance to support professional growth.
• Support children in developing independence through toileting, dressing, food preparation, eating, making their own work choices, and engaging in hands‑on activities aligned with Montessori principles.

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or related degree required. Master's degree preferred.
• Previous experience in a Montessori classroom preferred.
• At least 2 years of previous K-12 teaching experience.
• U.S. Work Authorization required.
• Montessori MACTE-accredited teacher training preferred; however, the school is willing to provide certification for candidates who do not currently hold one.
• Relocation assistance and 75% tuition remission may also be available.

Compensation and benefit packages are competitive but will differ by school and will typically depend on geographic location, your experience, and your level of degree.
