Work Arrangement:

We are seeking an experienced Special Education Teacher to provide individualized academic, literacy, and reading support to students with disabilities and diverse learning needs in Manhattan.
The selected candidate will deliver targeted instruction, support students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and collaborate with educators to help students strengthen their academic skills and achieve individualized learning goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Provide individualized and small-group instruction in reading, literacy, and academic skills.
- Support students with IEPs, learning disabilities, and other special education needs.
- Deliver targeted reading interventions and literacy instruction.
- Reinforce classroom instruction and help students progress toward individualized academic goals.
- Adapt instructional strategies to meet each student’s learning needs.
- Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and other educational professionals.
- Monitor and document student progress.
- Contribute to educational planning and implementation of appropriate learning strategies.
- Maintain a supportive, structured, and student-centered learning environment.
- Master’s degree.
- Certification in Special Education.
- Certification in Literacy.
- Certification in Students with Disabilities.
- Certification in Reading.
- Experience working with students with disabilities or in special education settings.
- Strong background in literacy development, reading instruction, and academic intervention.
- Ability to implement effective instructional strategies tailored to individual learning needs.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and contribute effectively to an educational team.
- Patience, empathy, and a student-centered approach.
- School-based educational setting in Manhattan.
- Individualized and small-group instruction.
- Regular collaboration with teachers, school staff, and other educational professionals.
- Focus on supporting students with disabilities and diverse learning needs.
