Description Beansprouts Preschool is looking for a Substitute Preschool Teacher for the school year!
Founded in 1980 in Park Slope, Brooklyn, Beansprouts offers preschool, after-school, and day camp programming and serves children from ages 2 to 9. SUMMARY OF POSITION:Beansprouts is seeking a Substitute Teacher to join our preschool team for the school year. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in education to gain experience in the field and learn from a fun, creative, and supportive team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:- Assist the head teacher with daily activities and as assigned
- Promote the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of preschool-aged children
- Monitor children's indoor/outdoor activities
- Respond to children's needs in a positive and courteous manner
- Participate in small group activities
- Engage in ad hoc projects and tasks as assigned.
- Must possess a minimum of an Associate’s Degree:
Early Childhood Education or a related field is strongly preferred! - Must have at least two years of childcare experience in a an established childcare setting
- Must demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills; and be team-oriented, nurturing, patient, and reliable.
- Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, which may include lifting children and year-round outdoor activities.
** As per Department of Health regulations, a background check and medical will be required for employment.
HOURS- "On Call " position
- Our available shifts are Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 3 pm, or 3 pm to 6 pm
- Flexible hours: we are happy to work around your schedule if you are not available for all those times!
