In-Person Grade 3-7 Academic Support & Test Prep Tutor

The Tutorverse is hiring an experienced educator for grade 3-7 academic support and test prep in the NYC area to help our students achieve!

• Academic Support
  
  Experience:
  
  Applicants must have at least 3 years' experience in helping support grade 3-7 students in both ELA and math (science and/or history are a bonus).
• Test Prep
  
  Experience:
  
  Applicants must have experience in helping grade 3-7 students prepare for both ELA and math NY state tests (SHSAT, HSPT/TACHS, Hunter HS, or other entrance exams are a huge bonus and pay a higher rate).
• Location:
  
  Applicants must be available to travel to students for in-person instruction within NYC, primarily in Manhattan.
• Tech fluency:
  Since many in-person families are occasionally unable to meet in person, we will be asking you to deliver lessons via Zoom as you might with a real tutoring client - think of this like role playing with your interviewer being a student.

• Flexible schedule:
  Work as many hours as you want!
• Starting hourly rate of $80:
  We appreciate the experience that you bring to the role, and we compensate you as such! (If students continue from academic support to entrance exams like SHSAT, the rate increases.)
• No micromanagement:
  You’re experienced and knowledgeable, so teach your content, your way!
• Help with the boring stuff:
  We find the clients, help with scheduling, and enforce our cancellation policy all so you can focus on what you love to do - teach.

• Dynamic and Engaging:
  You should be able to hold your own in front of students and deliver content in a dynamic and engaging manner.
• Experienced and has a Bachelor's Degree:
  We make a promise to our families that our instructors are truly experts in their respective fields, so we ask that you have a bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university, as well as three years of post-collegiate grade 3-7 teaching experience.
