Entry Level Education
Continuous recruitment for part‑time positions for general cafeteria and recess support. (Grades K‑5).
10 months per year. Follows the student calendar.
Eligible for membership in the NYS Local Retirement System.
Key Responsibilities- Be outdoors for up to an hour year around in potentially inclement weather
- Be on your feet and supervising consistently for up to an hour
- Be able to run and keep up with a child
- With training, operate a copier and complete classroom cutting and clerical tasks
- Speak and communicate clearly with children
- Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, plus
- EITHER:
- (A) One (1) year of full‑time or its part‑time equivalent paid or volunteer equivalent experience working in a clerical capacity.
- (B) One (1) year of full‑time or its part‑time equivalent paid or volunteer equivalent experience working with children.
- (C) Possession of a certificate of completion for a course for Child Care through an occupational school, The American Red Cross or similar agency.
- (D) A combination of experience as defined by the limits of (A), (B), and (C) above.
- NOTE:
Successful completion of one (1) year of college education beyond high school (minimum of 30 semester college credit hours) may be substituted for the one (1) year of experience.
