Elementary Teaching Assistant - PT

Job Overview

Continuous recruitment for part‑time positions for general classroom support, 1:1 assignments, and special education program classes (Grades K‑5). 10 months per year, follows the student calendar. Eligible for NYS Teachers’ Retirement and holiday pay.

Must be eligible to apply for NYS Teaching Assistant certification.

• Lift, carry, pull up to 60 lbs.
• Be outdoors for up to an hour year‑round in potentially inclement weather.
• Be on your feet and supervising consistently for up to an hour.
• Be able to run and keep up with a child.
• With training, operate a copier and complete classroom cutting and clerical tasks.
• Speak and communicate clearly with children.
• Be able to sit and get up from the floor or low seated position.
• Be part of a P.E. class and be able to support sport activities.
