Special Educator/Special Instruction Provider: Early Intervention

Legacy Kids Inc. has openings for certified special education teachers to deliver special instruction to infants and toddlers from birth to age three, in the family's home, on Long Island and throughout New York City. This is early intervention teaching: play based, routines based, and built around what the family wants their child to be able to do.

• Plan and deliver play based instruction that grows cognitive, learning and problem solving skills.
• Support early communication, social and emotional development, and play with caregivers and peers.
• Help families with behavior and with routines that hold up at mealtimes, bedtime and transitions.
• Deliver family training sessions so parents can teach into the ordinary moments of the day.
• Write and review outcomes on the child's Individualized Family Service Plan and document each session.
• Work alongside the child's other providers and service coordinator as part of the early intervention team.

A current New York State teaching certification in Students with Disabilities (Birth to Grade
2). A New York State Department of Health Early Intervention approval letter is not required to apply, and new graduates are welcome.
