Farmingdale State College (FSC), the largest college of applied science and technology within the State University of New York system, is recognized for its applied learning. It enrolls over 10,000 students and offers nearly 50 degree programs through four schools:
Arts and Sciences, Business, the Pasternack School of Engineering Technology, and the Santmann School of Health Sciences. The college's diverse offerings include the region's largest collegiate flight school, the only four-year dental hygiene program in the area, a nursing program with a 100% NCLEX pass rate, and a graduate portfolio aligned with regional needs. Master's degrees include construction management, nursing administration, and quality assurance and regulatory affairs, with additional programs in development.

This is a college on the move. Construction is underway on a $75 million, 52,000-square-foot Computer Sciences Center, the first zero-net-carbon-ready building on campus, designed for our growing computing programs. Our corporate partners, including PSEG Long Island and Estée Lauder, provide scholarship funds, training programs, internships, and insight into the skills our students need to succeed. The college's regional economic impact in 2025 was $272 million, according to an analysis conducted by the LIA Research.

Faculty at FSC combine excellent teaching with active scholarship that involves undergraduates. The Department of Nursing at Farmingdale State College invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor of Nursing. We seek a dynamic, student-focused educator who is committed to teaching excellence in teaching, scholarly engagement, and service to both the College and broader community. The successful candidate will support the academic mission of the Department of Nursing through teaching in undergraduate and/or graduate programs, contributing to curriculum development and assessment, engaging in scholarly activities, and participating in departmental and institutional service.

All faculty members at Farmingdale State College have three workload components: teaching, research and scholarly activity, and service. Candidates should have a research agenda that complements their area of academic specialty resulting in peer-reviewed publications, which are necessary for promotion and tenure at Farmingdale State College. We are also interested in candidates with a history of, or interest in, pursuing external funding for their research.

The successful candidate will demonstrate an interest and high level of competence in teaching. The service component of the workload includes student advising and participation on committees.
