Waste Connections is looking for a
** Gas Technician Trainee
** to join our team at our
** JED Landfill
** located in St. Cloud, FL.
** Pay Range:** $22-$30+/hr. DOE + $5000 stay on bonus paid out in increments over one year
*
* Responsibilities include:

*** Perform routine system inspections and repairs on the landfill.
* Work with Lead Landfill Gas Technician to ensure compliance.
* Maintain relationships with landfill employees as well as consultants and vendors.
* Using gas analyzer to monitor gas wells and probes.
* Performing maintenance on pneumatic pumps, including the removal of pumps in wells, inspections, and repairs.
* Monitoring the amount of liquid in gas wells.
* HDPE pipe fusion.
** Position Requirements:
*** Ability to follow established procedures with minimal amount of direct supervision.
* Ability to be coachable and learn how to navigate the landfill in a safe manner.
* Work outdoors for most of the day.
* Maintain a good attitude and a hard work ethic.
* Be willing to perform a variety of tasks on any given day.
* Provide on-call response to gas collection system.
* Experience operating hand and power tools.
* Ability to handle objects up to 50 lbs.
* Ability to collect data, interpret data and draw valid conclusions.
