The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Engineer to join our Operations Team working on Data Center, Vehicle Manufacturing, or General Build Construction projects.
You will play a crucial role in ensuring the success and seamless execution of construction projects. Your responsibilities include assisting the Management Teams with all technical aspects of project management, coordinating between various stakeholders, and ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards. Technical support involves participation in construction planning and design, interpretation of design, application of construction methods, resolution and documentation of design conflicts, constructability reviews, and shop drawing processing.
You will also develop, implement, and administer project engineering procedures and other work controlling documents in the Prolog database, manage material status reports, process requests for information, and document meeting minutes.
Location
You can be located anywhere in the US, provided you are willing to travel long-term to client projects.
Responsibilities
- Project Execution: Ensure project engineering activities comply with company and contract requirements, support construction schedule, and participate in planning and design. Develop and administer project engineering procedures and work controlling documents.
- Budget Management: Monitor expenditure, track financial progress, and ensure costs stay within budget. Identify cost-saving opportunities and strategies for financial optimization.
- Resource Management: Foster a collaborative environment, guide team members, and manage project engineering personnel and subcontractors. Interface with on-site departments to resolve issues and ensure quality and schedule adherence.
- Risk Management: Represent the company during meetings with A/E, clients, and project management teams.
- Technical Support: Serve as a key technical person on projects, potentially managing small to medium-sized projects.
Qualifications
- 4-year engineering degree or equivalent technical training and related experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of similar construction engineering experience.
- Advanced knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes, standards, and understanding of interdependent functional units.
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Excellent communication and organizational skills for cross-functional coordination.
- Ability to implement innovative management strategies to improve project and employee performance.
Skills and Attributes for Success
- Technical knowledge of construction and engineering processes, procurement, project controls, and contract management.
- Proficiency in budget management, financial forecasting, and resource allocation.
- Experience in risk assessment and mitigation.
- Ability to adapt in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
