Job Description

• Attend pre-bid meetings to fully gauge requirements and expectations from the client.
• Review proposal specifications, drawings, design reports and existing site conditions to determine scope of work.
• Use project historical costs to establish crews, equipment requirements and production for new projects.
• Coordinate pre-bid RFI’s prior to specification cut-off date.
• Prepare estimates by calculating and assessing project take-off and overall scope of work in line with the both the preconstruction and project delivery teams.
• Disciplines estimated include bridge structures, retaining walls, highway paving, drainage, rail and track infrastructure.
• Prepare budgets, subcontracts, purchase orders and assist in preliminary project schedules.
• Project estimating proficiency across design-build, bid-build and joint venture projects.
• Provide leadership and mentor new employees on estimating processes and standards.

The Successful Applicant

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred in construction management or civil engineering, but not essential.
• 10/ 15 years of experience in estimating and preconstruction focusing on the heavy civil/infrastructure market.
• Experience working for general contractor with a track record being fully engaged in estimating and preconstruction environment.
• Previous successes of contract awards will be advantageous.
