Graduate Environmental Scientist

We are looking for a Graduate Environmental Scientist to support our EHS Compliance team in delivering environmental consulting services to industrial clients across the region. You’ll assist with permit applications (air, stormwater, wastewater), develop and update environmental plans (SPCC, SWPPP, HWCP), and prepare compliance reports (air emissions, hazardous waste, EPCRA). The role includes site visits, technical writing, and interpreting environmental regulations to help clients meet their compliance goals.
Responsibilities- Personal Capability Building:
Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities, formal and informal training and coaching. - Health, Safety and Environment:
Follow the organization's HSE policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate environmental risks. - Data Collection and Analysis:
Produce accurate reports for others by collecting data from a variety of standard sources and inputting it into standard formats. - Document Preparation:
Organize and prepare complex documents using a variety of applications and gather and summarize data for special reports. - Community of Practice Management:
Participate in a community of practice in a defined area of expertise or consulting. - Client & Customer Management (External):
Help senior colleagues manage client and customer relationships. - Environmental
Risk Management:
Contribute to the process of environmental risk management, ensuring actions align with environmental regulations and corporate sustainability goals. - Sampling and Testing:
Collect a range of straightforward samples and undertake testing as directed to support regulatory compliance activity. - Environmental Impact Assessment:
Conduct routine tasks related to environmental impact assessments using specified systems and protocols. - Bid Solicitation/Request for Proposal/Tender Preparation:
Gather information and resources to assist in drafting requests for bid solicitation, request for proposal (RFP) and requests for tender (RFT). - Project Management:
Support others by carrying out a range of project management activities.
- Bachelor's and/or Master’s Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or similar field of study.
- 0-2 years of experience with some knowledge of environmental regulations affecting industry preferred, but not required.
- OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER certification is a plus.
- Ability to perform field work and travel overnight.
- Strong written and technical writing skills.
Salary Range: $66,000-$68,000 based on experience and location.
