Responsible for verifying that suppliers are shipping all materials within an order. Knowledge of documentation including and not limited to Purchase Orders, Specifications, Drawings, etc. Ability to communicate professionally with suppliers and MP team members to prevent liquidated damages and back charges created at the job site when vendor equipment arrives at the project site and is then inventoried. Prevent overage, shortage & damage (OS&D) reports issued against Mitsubishi Power to a minimum by the customer and their Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) group.
Key Responsibilities- Must be detail oriented.
- Ability to review Shipping Bill of Material (SBOM) to ensure all loose ship materials are included in shipments.
- Ability to use Purchase Order documentation and Specifications to verify SBOMs.
- Ability to interpret Mechanical, Piping, and Electrical Drawings for comparison to SBOM components to ensure all materials are shipping correctly.
- Be a liaison to Engineering, Supplier, Global Sourcing, Logistics, and Construction Technical Field Advisors (TFAs) at the project sites as needed to resolve shipping and or engineering issues found during the SBOM process.
- Expedite the SBOM review and approval as required to not interfere with the activities used by Quality, Expeditors, and Document Control for entry to Project Material List (PML).
- Ability to communicate with suppliers on any discrepancies found in the SBOM process.
- Communicate with others through Microsoft Teams.
- Communication with Quality Control and Expeditors prior to release of shipping documentation as needed.
- Maintain professional decorum at all times with Mitsubishi team members and vendors.
- Provide weekly reports on activities to Materials Manager.
- Provide summarized monthly reports of activities to Materials Manager.
- Participate in bi‑weekly department meetings through Microsoft Teams.
- Communicate to all appropriate people when communicating.
- Comply with all EHS policies, practices and procedures reporting all unsafe activities to Management and/or Human Resources.
- Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
- Contribute to building a positive team spirit.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of employees.
- Protect confidential information by not communicating, disclosing to, or using it for benefit of third parties.
- Always maintain the highest degree of honesty and integrity.
- Associate’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, engineering technology, or a related field required; bachelor’s degree preferred. At least two years of experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Must be able to read mechanical drawings and understand how equipment gets assembled on sites.
- Must be able to speak, read and write in English. Spanish and/or Japanese a plus.
- Must understand electrical and mechanical equipment shipping material processes.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and technical briefs. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, global sourcing, and logistics teams.
