What

You’ll Do

The Ceramic Materials Process Engineer plans, organizes, and directs engineering functions to meet company objectives for new product development and improvement of existing product lines. This position will involve all process engineering aspects of a manufacturing plant and promote safety and environmental compliance. The engineer will mainly support the R&D program and report to the General Manager.

  • Learn internal materials processing and furnace systems
  • Manage assigned technical responsibilities for existing active processing facilities and coach, teach, and advise process operators
  • Design experiments at lab, pilot plant, and manufacturing scale to qualify new products and processes
  • Lead in developing and improving standard operating procedures, work instructions, and test methods for manufacturing and quality control processes
  • Assist in investigations related to deviations and out‑of‑specification results
  • Assume responsibility for matters relating to product chemistry and physical characteristics
  • Assist in understanding and resolving product chemistry issues with the laboratory
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and participating in professional societies
What You’ll Need
  • Possess a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical, ceramic, chemical, or industrial engineering with a minimum of 5 years of work experience
  • Have project management experience, a strong understanding of process safety concepts, and a strong background in quality systems
  • Have the ability to independently create functional and cost‑effective designs that meet complex requirements
  • Be willing to work in a collaborative environment to improve efficiencies and reduce costs
