Salary Range: $67,500 – $99,000 per year. (General guideline – final compensation depends on experience, qualifications, and market consideration.)
Location: Orchard Park, NY (must reside within 50-mile radius).
Position Overview: The Manufacturing Engineer will support manufacturing cells for new and existing aerospace products, managing process documentation, tooling and fixturing, driving continuous improvement with Lean Six Sigma tools, performing ergonomic assessments, and ensuring rigorous manufacturing engineering practices.
- Learn & implement Safety, Ergonomics, and Management of Change activities to support site safety goals.
- Generate and maintain manufacturing processes and work instructions.
- Identify needs for standard or special gauging and tooling for production.
- Drive First Pass Yield (FPY) and Overall Process Effectiveness (OPE) improvement.
- Collaborate with Continuous Improvement and Tool Design teams to develop tooling and fixtures that improve workflow and quality.
- Provide timely support in resolving manufacturing issues.
- Assist in developing work cell design, integration, and validation.
- Use Lean Six Sigma tools to reduce waste and variation focused on improving KPIs.
- Support 5S and visual management efforts in manufacturing areas.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Industrial/Operations Technology from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 1 year of professional manufacturing experience.
- Eligible to work in the United States; must be a U.S. person as defined by ITAR.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
- Residence within 50-mile radius of Orchard Park, NY (relocation not provided).
- Experience developing & supporting electrical/electro‑mechanical manufacturing processes.
- Practitioner of Lean manufacturing and Visual Control implementations.
- Experience developing tooling for mechanical/electrical product assemblies.
- Understanding of Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA) principles.
- Knowledge of PFMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis – within manufacturing).
- Experience with continuous improvement and root cause problem solving.
- Ability to work in a multi‑project, team environment.
- Organizational, communication, leadership, personal computing, and performance management skills.
