We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer with a focus in traffic engineering to join our widely respected and growing Transportation Division in our Hollywood, FL Office. - Working with a team of multidisciplinary engineers.
- Develop traffic and transportation planning, safety, and engineering solutions for multimodal transportation projects.
- Complete traffic engineering studies for intersections and corridors, including traffic impact assessment for development projects.
- Develop plans and specifications for temporary traffic control schemes, pavement marking and signage layout, and traffic signal systems.
- Manage and mentor staff while serving as a task lead.
- Assemble a complete design package or assigned portions of a larger project.
- Perform quality control reviews.
- Attend and lead meetings with public and/or private clients.
- Represent MJ at industry and professional society events.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
- PE Required.
- Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) certification – a plus.
- 5–10 years of progressive traffic engineering analysis and design experience.
- Proficient with Synchro, Sim Traffic, HCS, SIDRA.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 software such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Working knowledge of VISSIM, Microstation, AutoCAD, ESRI ArcGIS, or Adobe Illustrator.
- Proficient with intersection and roadway geometric layout – a plus.
- Active Transportation, multi‑modal and transit‑oriented design experience.
- Innovative intersections, and/or ITS experience – a plus.
- Business Development experience – preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Public presentation experience – preferred.
- Experience with proposal writing, scope of work development, and budgeting.
- Project management experience – a plus.
- Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to effectively participate as part of a project team, develop and maintain client relations, and meet project demands and schedules.
