We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer with a focus in traffic engineering to join our widely respected and growing Transportation Division in our Hollywood, FL Office. • Working with a team of multidisciplinary engineers.
• Develop traffic and transportation planning, safety, and engineering solutions for multimodal transportation projects.
• Complete traffic engineering studies for intersections and corridors, including traffic impact assessment for development projects.
• Develop plans and specifications for temporary traffic control schemes, pavement marking and signage layout, and traffic signal systems.
• Manage and mentor staff while serving as a task lead.
• Assemble a complete design package or assigned portions of a larger project.
• Perform quality control reviews.
• Attend and lead meetings with public and/or private clients.
• Represent MJ at industry and professional society events.

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
• PE Required.
• Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) certification – a plus.
• 5–10 years of progressive traffic engineering analysis and design experience.
• Proficient with Synchro, Sim Traffic, HCS, SIDRA.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 software such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Working knowledge of VISSIM, Microstation, AutoCAD, ESRI ArcGIS, or Adobe Illustrator.
• Proficient with intersection and roadway geometric layout – a plus.
• Active Transportation, multi‑modal and transit‑oriented design experience.
• Innovative intersections, and/or ITS experience – a plus.
• Business Development experience – preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Public presentation experience – preferred.
• Experience with proposal writing, scope of work development, and budgeting.
• Project management experience – a plus.
• Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to effectively participate as part of a project team, develop and maintain client relations, and meet project demands and schedules.
