Resident Engineer - Utilities

Armand Corporation, an award-winning M/WBE Construction Management firm celebrating over 33 years in the industry, is seeking a full-time Resident Engineer to join our construction management team. This position will be involved in different aspects of a federal construction project related to complex rail, transit, and other transportation projects in NY & NJ.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of experience in utility engineering or construction management, preferably infrastructure projects.

This position will be full-time, on-site, and will report to our Midtown Manhattan office, client office, and other Armand locations across NYC and NJ.

• Resident Engineer will be required to ensure that construction work is performed in compliance with the contract drawings, specifications, and all applicable codes and standards.
• Coordinate with contractors, facility personnel, design consultants, and other stakeholders as needed.
• Conduct site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and safety of construction work.
• Coordinate construction work with necessary parties to ensure that contracts are complete with minimum disruption to any existing facility/operations.
• Compile comprehensive inspection reports, documenting findings and recording any deviations or discrepancies from approved plans and specifications.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Structural, and/or Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• PE License strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in utility engineering or construction management, preferably infrastructure projects.
• Experience with high voltage (26kV) substation design, generators and automatic transfer switches, 480V heavy equipment power distribution and components, and high voltage (13.2kV) flexible power distribution cables for mining applications required.
• Experience in various utility construction requirements in NJ and NYC required. Utility mapping experience preferred.
• NJ Transit, MTA, or Amtrak safety training preferred.
• OSHA 30-hour or SST construction safety required.
• Ability to stay late or come in early as needed. Night and weekend shifts may be required.
• Ability to pass a TWIC and/or SWAC background check at high level.
  
  Valid driver's license may be required depending on the site location.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods of time.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
