Pay Range:
$96,000.00-$Direct, supervise, coordinate, and monitor operation and maintenance of the chiller plant equipment and systems. This includes electric and steam absorption chillers associated pumps, cooling towers and piping central hot water heating system and domestic water system equipment. Direct oversee department personnel to ensure continuous coverage of licensed engineers. Provide work direction, assign and schedule work, oversee on the job training.
Coordinate team member activities to ensure individual and team goals are consistently achieved; ensure team members are working up to the highest standards in all aspects of their position; conduct regular meetings with team members to review company policy and procedures, performance, quality, and safety statistics.
Refrigeration Engineer License required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct management of the site's HVAC systems and chiller plant operations.
- Supervise a team of 8 full-time employees (FTEs), including refrigeration engineers and mechanics, providing 24/7 coverage.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and preventive maintenance schedules.
- Monitor system performance and implement improvements to optimize energy efficiency and reliability.
- Coordinate emergency response and troubleshooting for HVAC-related issues.
- Manage vendor relationships and oversee contracts for maintenance and repairs.
- Prepare and manage budgets for operations and capital projects related to HVAC infrastructure.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (preferred).
- Minimum 7-10 years of experience in HVAC operations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of chiller plant systems and large-scale HVAC infrastructure.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment with 24/7 operational demands.
- Refrigeration Engineer License required.
