Operations Engineer, Mechanical Engineer
Location: New York
As a Blade Repair Specialist, you will be a key technical reference for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of wind turbine blades in operation. You will collaborate closely with field teams, subcontractors, and engineering departments to ensure high-quality and efficient blade service execution. Your focus will be on technical excellence, safety, and continuous improvement across all blade-related activities.
YOUR TASKS- Review inspection reports and classify blade damages.
- Create and monitor non-conformance reports (NCRs) within internal systems.
- Define repair plans and produce technical sketches for critical repairs in alignment with engineering guidelines.
- Support rotor balancing analysis based on blade condition and operational data.
- Supervise and follow up on blade repairs to ensure quality and compliance.
- Coordinate internal and subcontracted resources for blade inspections and repairs.
- Provide accurate activity forecasts to external and internal teams.
- Deliver technical training and development support to subcontractors.
- Conduct QHSE audits on wind farms and repair sites.
- Plan long-term budgets for blade maintenance and repair activities.
- Manage purchase orders: ensure timely creation, cost booking, invoice review, and closure.
- Handle customer technical claims and provide clear, solution-oriented responses.
- Align closely with local operations and service teams to ensure consistent execution.
- Ensure the availability and accuracy of required HSE documentation.
- Engineering degree or similar (Mechanical, Aerospace, Materials or similar).
- Proven expertise and knowledge in blade design, manufacturing, and repair processes.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in wind turbine service, blade repair, inspection, or manufacturing — ideally with field exposure.
- Advanced English level (C1 or higher).
- Strong communication and coordination skills with both technical and non-technical teams.
- Ability to lead technical discussions, manage contractors, and work independently in a dynamic environment.
