This project management position will support the planning, design and construction of site development and industrial facility projects. The projects will be primarily located in the Greater New York City Area but may also be located in central or upstate NY or other parts of the Northeast. The candidate will manage multi-discipline project teams, work with national technical experts, maintain client satisfaction and support marketing efforts.
The role includes pursuing and securing new work from existing and potential clients, coordinating work of professional staff and subconsultants, performing engineering tasks, coordinating with clients, and participating in industry associations. Leadership experience in taking a project from planning through design, construction and operations is expected.
Individuals who succeed in this position are comfortable communicating with clients, self-motivated, versatile, able to engage in a variety of tasks, manage time effectively, and demonstrate excellent technical writing and visualization skills.
Responsibilities- Direct and coordinate work of single or multi-discipline teams through the project lifecycle (development to close-out).
- Manage all aspects of complex small to medium projects or routine large projects.
- Produce and coordinate multiple projects concurrently.
- Establish and maintain client relations, and participate in marketing, contractual, design and production meetings.
- Conduct work sessions for deliverable development with staff and stakeholders.
- Coordinate staffing and workload throughout the project lifecycle and ensure deliverables meet schedule.
- Track financial aspects of projects and align work with budget and schedule.
- Collaborate with Accounting, Operations and Business leadership for periodic reviews.
- Implement QA/QC procedures.
- Perform other duties as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- 7 years related experience
- Minimum of 2 years project management experience
- Ability to interact with various design teams and strong organizational, project management, and communication skills
- Commitment to active participation in HDR s employee-owned culture
- Preferred: 11+ years related experience and 5 years project management experience
- Experience on projects for public and private clients (examples: DSNY, National Grid, NYCDEP, NYCEDC, NYCDDC)
- New York State Professional Engineering license (preferred)
- MS Office and MS Project proficiency
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Local candidates are preferred
