Plant Operator – Power Generation Facility | Queens, NY

Location: Long Island City, Queens, NY
Pay Range: $50.60 – $55.30/hour
Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts, 5-week modified DuPont schedule

We are seeking a Plant Operator to join a large-scale power generation facility in Queens, NY. In this essential position, you’ll be responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining plant systems and equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient production. • Operate and monitor power plant systems and components during assigned shifts.
• Perform plant rounds, collect data, and make necessary adjustments to maintain optimal operations.
• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance such as valve adjustments, oil changes, and filter replacements.
• Apply and remove Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures in accordance with safety standards.
• Serve as fire watch and confined-space monitor when required.
• Respond promptly to abnormal or emergency plant conditions.
• Assist with start-up, shutdown, and troubleshooting of plant systems.
• Maintain accurate records, logs, and reports.

• Minimum 3 years of experience in power generation, process plant operations, or equivalent military experience.
• Proven ability to start, operate, and shut down power plant equipment safely and efficiently.
• Strong mechanical and electrical maintenance skills, including familiarity with systems up to 345 kV.
• Experience applying LOTO procedures and following strict plant safety and environmental protocols.
• Proficiency in data collection and analysis to identify performance trends and improve reliability.
