Fire Protection Engineer, Intermediate –
Naval Nuclear Laboratory (FMP) located in West Milton, NY.

Our Building and Fire Protection Engineering team is seeking a dedicated professional passionate about fire safety and engineering. This role supports the safety and reliability of our nation's naval nuclear reactors and the training of sailors who operate these reactors.

• Oversee facility modifications and new construction to ensure proper design and installation of fire safety systems.
• Oversee maintenance of fire detection, fire suppression, and fire communication systems.
• Upgrade fire protection systems and equipment to be more effective.
• Perform code evaluations in support of site operations and resolve fire code deficiencies.
• Review and develop fire hazard analyses and facility assessments.

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree and a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
• U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a federal background investigation.

• Familiarity with the ICC Codes/Building Code set for New York State.
• Experience with applicable NFPA standards.
• Experience with the development of construction documents (drawings, specifications, cost estimates).
• Experience with design and maintenance of fire protection systems.

$77,900.00 – $ annually (salary based on experience, qualifications, market and business considerations).
