Essential Duties, Functions, and Responsibilities
  • Signs and seals assigned project documents.
  • Prepares complex design computations, plans and related construction documents.
  • Prepares complex quantity and cost estimates.
  • Prepares complex reports, studies and permits for various projects.
  • Analyzes and interprets a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
  • Prepares engineering and design documents using computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment.
  • Coordinates staff activities to ensure project budget, schedule and quality goals are achieved.
  • Assists in the review and preparation of engineering agreements for projects.
  • Attends client and public meetings as necessary.
  • Responsible for contract administration with clients and subconsultants.
  • Monitors work‑in‑process and assists in directing and/or supervising the work of other engineers activities on projects.
  • May assist in client invoicing and monitors outstanding accounts receivable and collection efforts on projects.
  • May serve as onsite project representative and/or provide construction observation duties in the field.
  • Visits construction site to monitor progress and other duties per the contract documents.
  • Ensures that projects documents and files are organized.
  • Prepares and presents technical information to colleagues and clients.
  • Assists Project, Design and/or Office Managers as requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited four‑year college or university or approved equivalent required.
  • Must possess a minimum of 6 years of related experience.
  • Actively registered Professional Engineer or Structural Engineer desired.
  • Must possess EIT license in the absence of license with a defined path and schedule to obtaining licensure.
  • Other licensure or registration may be considered in lieu of Professional Engineer or Structural Engineer licensure.
