We’re seeking a Sr. Electrical Engineer in our New York office. As part of our integrated building services design team, you will design and oversee medium to low voltage power distribution systems, power studies, lighting, fire and life safety systems, and renewable energy infrastructure. You will manage multiple projects simultaneously, prepare contract drawings, specifications, and basis of design reports, delegate work to junior staff, and attend client meetings.
Responsibilities- Design full low and medium voltage electrical systems, including power, emergency power systems, batteries, lighting, fire alarm and signaling systems
- Lead the preparation of contract documents for plans, specifications, and cost estimates for complex projects from planning studies to final design
- Design lighting systems and associated control systems
- Prepare load analysis for each stage of design
- Produce detailed project electrical systems drawings
- Write basis of design reports and technical documentation for the project
- Apply electrical engineering principles, codes, and guidelines to the industry
- Select and prepare specifications for electrical equipment
- Coordinate work with engineers of other disciplines and project architects across multiple locations
- Present to clients
- Manage several different assignments simultaneously
- Provide quality control and assurance of electrical engineering plans, specifications, and estimates
- Mentor junior staff
- Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)
- Professional Engineer licensure
- Experience working for an MEP firm focused on Mission Critical applications, including design of medium‑voltage distribution systems and emergency generation
- Proficiency in Revit and 3D CADD
- Knowledge of NFPA Standards
- Working knowledge of other building systems (e.g., door finish hardware, IT building communications, lighting controls, and BAS networks) as they relate to electrical systems
- Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
