Techno is seeking an Office Engineer to support a series of complex pedestrian ramp projects across New York City. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, infrastructure-focused environment and is committed to delivering projects that improve accessibility and public mobility. As part of a collaborative construction and design team, you will play a key role in ensuring field operations, documentation, and compliance processes run smoothly.
You’ll work closely with project managers, resident engineers, inspectors, and design partners to keep all project elements aligned, accurate, and on schedule.
- Oversee daily project documentation and maintain organized, accurate project records
- Review contractor submittals, RFIs, change order requests, and updated drawings
- Monitor project schedules, quantities, and progress tracking
- Assist with cost analysis, reporting, and project controls
- Ensure ADA compliance throughout all phases of pedestrian ramp construction
- Support field teams by tracking site issues and documenting field conditions
- Participate in coordination meetings and prepare meeting minutes or follow-up items
- Facilitate communication between contractors, inspectors, and engineering staff
- Provide technical and administrative support to the Resident Engineer
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience supporting construction or infrastructure projects in an Office Engineer or similar role
- Strong knowledge of ADA compliance requirements, particularly for pedestrian ramps and streetscape improvements
- Experience reviewing engineering drawings, project specifications, and construction documentation
- Proficiency with project management and document control systems
- Strong analytical skills with experience reviewing schedules, quantities, and cost information
- Excellent organizational, writing, and communication abilities
- Prior experience with NYC public-works projects is highly beneficial
- Experience working with NYCDDC projects, standards, or procedures is a strong plus

The expected salary range for this role in the New York City Metropolitan Area is $60 - $80 per hour. The total compensation, including salary and bonuses, is determined by various factors such as experience, skill level, location, and qualifications, which are evaluated during the interview process
