About the RoleOur client is seeking an experienced and motivated Technical Support Engineer to join their North American service and support team. This hands‑on position is ideal for a technically minded professional who thrives in customer‑facing environments and enjoys solving complex engineering challenges.
The successful candidate will provide best‑in‑class support for sophisticated x‑ray and imaging systems — covering preventive and predictive maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and system upgrades. The role also includes managing technical documentation and supporting performance analysis to ensure systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver expert technical support, diagnostics, and troubleshooting for high‑precision x‑ray and CT systems.
- Manage and maintain technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and configuration records.
- Maintain accurate bills of materials (BOMs) and implement configuration and change‑control processes.
- Coordinate with customer teams to ensure alignment of system documentation and operational records.
- Plan and execute preventive maintenance using performance data and trend analysis.
- Debug PLC‑and PC‑based control programs and validate system functionality.
- Collaborate with internal engineering specialists to resolve issues efficiently and effectively.
- Liaise with procurement teams to ensure timely delivery of spare and replacement parts.
- Ensure safety, quality, and compliance are upheld across all service activities.
The ideal candidate is a technically skilled engineer with strong electro‑mechanical knowledge and a practical, problem‑solving approach. You will be comfortable working independently in the field and collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.
Essential experience:
- Associate’s degree (or higher) in a STEM discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years’ technical or engineering experience, including at least 2 years in a customer‑facing role.
- Hands‑on industrial or manufacturing experience.
- Strong understanding of PCs, networking, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings; CAD familiarity preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven troubleshooting and analytical capabilities.
- US citizen with the ability to access regulated defense or nuclear facilities (passport and Real ).
- Willingness to travel up to 50% within the US.
Preferred experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or technical discipline.
- Experience with automation, motion control, and PLC/PC programming.
- Solid Works or CAD proficiency.
- Familiarity with x‑ray or imaging technology.
- Experience working within recognised quality management systems (ISO
9001, AS9100, or NQA‑1).
