Role description:

Arcadis is searching for a Staff Water Engineer to support and grow our Water team in Clifton Park, NY. This candidate will use their expertise and technical knowledge to deliver design work for water/wastewater clients in New York and across North America

Qualifications & Experience:

As a Staff Water Engineer you will evaluate, plan, design and support management of projects for water / wastewater treatment and conveyance (pipelines, treatment, and pumping facilities).

Exercise judgment on details of work and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives

Complete technical and report writing with guidance from more senior team members.

Perform fieldwork activities such as site visits, construction inspection, sampling, water quality analyses, asset inventory, flow monitoring set-up and monitoring, technology evaluations, and plant operations information, process troubleshooting and optimization

Support professional engineering services during construction: construction observation, review of submittals and shop drawings, responses to request for information (RFIs) and permit closeouts.

Manage tasks as a project resource, completing allocated activities to meet budget, timeframe and quality objectives and meeting or exceeding client expectations.

Carry out investigations and analyses to support the development of technical solutions.

Prepare documentation and reports ensuring accuracy and compliance with Arcadis requirements and relevant national standards and codes of practice

Liaise with project managers/team leaders and clients to ensure effective communication on project matters.

Contribute to the resolution of technical issues on projects and provide technical guidance to other team members.

Collaborate with other design disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall design or solution.

Review completed engineering work to ensure it meets specified standards.

Further develop understanding of the services delivered by Arcadis, of the client’s business and the industry sector to facilitate personal networking and to develop personal credibility in the industry

Skills and Abilities:

• Detail oriented with knowledge of relevant national standards and codes of practice,
• Ability to provide technical guidance.
• Advanced research, data gathering, technical writing and analysis skills,
• Developing skills including technical, project management, relationship management, sector expertise and commercial awareness,
• Work independently.
• Excellent interpersonal, problem solving, time management and communication skills

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in an appropriate area of engineering
• Valid driver's license with the ability to commute to project sites.
• Minimum 4 years’ of experience in engineering AND EIT Certification

Preferred Skills:

• New York PE License
