Senior Dams Engineer / Project Manager
GEI Consultants, Inc. is hiring a Senior Dams Engineer / Project Manager to lead complex water infrastructure projects in Upstate New York and surrounding states.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with practitioners on the overall strategy and vision to reinforce and expand the Upstate NY Dams Practice.
- Plan, coordinate, direct, and supervise design teams in inspection, evaluation, and design of water infrastructure projects such as dams, levees, spillways, outlet works, hydroelectric facilities, and other structures.
- Provide technical input and oversight in disciplines including civil, structural, geotechnical, water resources, hydrology, hydraulics, mechanical.
- Resolve complex issues to benefit clients.
- Manage local, regional, and national projects.
- Identify, develop, pursue, and win opportunities with new and existing clients in NY, PA, VT, East region, and nationwide.
- Lead project teams representing multiple services and subconsultants.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- 15+ years of experience in design, project management, and construction of dams, levees, flood management systems, and/or hydropower projects.
- Registered professional civil engineer in New York.
- Understanding of regulatory and permitting environment in New York and surrounding states (NY DEC, PA DEP, VT ANR, USACE, FERC).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Experience pursuing and winning opportunities for water clients in NY.
- Reputable standing in NY market for dams, levees, flood control structures, and/or hydropower services.
- Strong analysis and design experience on large civil works projects such as dams, levees, flood walls, canals, penstocks.
- Ability to supervise and direct junior staff.
- Competitive salary range $100,000 – $150,000 per year.
