Air Traffic Control Radar Engineering Technician

Job Description
We are seeking experienced Air Traffic Control Radar Engineering Technicians to install and maintain digital Primary Airport Surveillance Radar (DASR) systems such as FAA ASR‑9 and ASR‑11, as well as FAA Secondary Radar systems like ATCBI‑6/Mode‑S. Candidates may also have experience with comparable military radar systems. The role requires travel to conduct site surveys in preparation for equipment replacement.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and conduct site surveys at designated locations throughout the United States.
  • Gather detailed information on site drawings, maps, infrastructure, environmental conditions, cable routing paths, power bus connections, and grounding/bonding requirements to develop a comprehensive installation blueprint.
  • Document actions and develop a Site Survey Report for review by design, quality control, and safety teams.
  • Ensure all findings are highlighted in the report, including structural components, MEP systems, equipment conditions, network configuration, safety, security, and hazard concerns.
Qualifications
  • Associate degree in electronics or electronic engineering technology, or equivalent military/FAA training certificates.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in radar signal processing, digital and analog circuits, microprocessors, and antenna performance for primary and secondary radar systems.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, power meters, and signal generators.
  • Ability to analyze facility drawings and provide red‑line changes.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office for documenting and creating high‑level reports.
  • Experience reading electronic schematics and flowcharts.
