Our expertise in infrastructure includes aviation, highways and bridges, planning and advisory services, ports, rail and transit, tunnels, and water. Want to be part of the creation and construction of our cities? Then the infrastructure team is for you!
Join our Ports & Terminals Group and work on port planning projects for ports, major container terminals, bulk and break-bulk facilities, offshore wind support facilities, and cruise terminals. You will support and coordinate the preparation of long-range port master plans, facility plans, terminal expansion/optimization efforts, capacity analyses, and operations plans for port authorities, terminal operators, and stevedores. You will work under transportation planning professionals and deliver as part of one or more project teams.

Compensation range depends on education and experience. For ideal candidates, the compensation range can be $88,000-$93,000 annually. Feel free to contact us for information on additional compensation and programs.
Responsibilities
• Apply planning principles to provide efficient, effective, economical, and timely solutions to port planning challenges in multivariable and multidiscipline project environments.
• Conduct road, rail, and marine operations and infrastructure planning efforts in accordance with transportation planning standards, quality objectives, and client needs.
• Collect, review, and analyze a variety of planning and operational data to meet project objectives.
• Prepare reports, technical memos, presentations, schedules, maps, figures, diagrams, and models.
• Prepare and contribute to proposals, proposal interview materials, and other business development materials and collateral.
• Participate in multi-disciplinary project teams.
Qualifications
• New graduate with a masters degree in transportation or transportation planning; urban, regional, or city planning; or a degree in civil, marine, or mechanical engineering.
• Experience in executing general land use planning or transportation planning and layout assignments; conducting planning studies and/or terminal capacity assessments, debottlenecking, and optimization studies.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a team of professionals across multiple concurrent engagements.
• Excellent English-language written and verbal communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to communicate concisely and effectively.
• An entrepreneurial “can do” attitude with an ability to work toward solutions despite real world constraints of limited time and information.
• Fluency with the Microsoft Office Suite, with a focus on Excel and PowerPoint, with basic ArcGIS familiarity.
• Familiarity with the following a plus:
• The maritime industry, common cargoes (e.g., containers, Ro/Ro, bulk, breakbulk, and project cargo), and a variety of marine facilities (e.g., container terminals, cruise terminals, bulk material handling facilities, offshore wind support facilities, etc.).
• The US freight transportation and logistics networks, including, specifically, the interconnection between North American ports and marine terminals and steamship lines, Class I railroads, and trucking companies.
