Building Envelope Consultant

New York & New England

You'll manage small to medium-sized projects, including new designs and repairs for existing structures. This role combines technical expertise with leadership, client interaction, and hands‑on fieldwork.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist senior staff with design, site investigations, and documentation.
  • Investigate and resolve building envelope issues.
  • Provide design consultation and construction support.
  • Conduct field testing for roofing, waterproofing, windows, and curtain walls.
  • Design remedial repairs for walls, roofs, and other systems.
  • Mentor junior staff and review plans/specifications.
  • Support litigation cases related to building systems.
  • Participate in construction administration phases.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Architectural Engineering (Master's preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in architecture, engineering, or construction management.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Registered Architect (R.A.) license.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects.
  • Proficiency in computer graphics and documentation.
  • Bonus experience: curtain wall design, historic preservation, rope access, public speaking.
  • Ability to travel and work at heights; valid driver's license preferred.
