Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Bridge Inspection Team Leader for employment in the Hunt Valley, MD office. Responsibilities
  • Structural Inspection Team Leader for bridges and ancillary structures.
  • Performing condition inspections of highway or other structures in a variety of environments, including confined spaces and at height (proper training and personal protection equipment will be provided).
  • Performing assignments related to the design, analysis, rehabilitation and inspection of highway bridges and ancillary structures.
  • Preparing engineering related calculations and developing drawings and visual aids.
  • Working under the supervision of a project manager or senior‑level team member.
Minimum Requirements
  • BA/BS plus 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • PE license.
  • NHI Certification for Bridge and/or Ancillary Structure Inspections (NHI Courses 130055, 130078, and 130087).
  • Meets qualifications to be a Nationally Certified Bridge Inspector.
  • Fundamental understanding of structural engineering principles, including steel and concrete design.
  • Certified as a Bridge Inspection Team Leader in Maryland or the ability to obtain in Maryland within 6 months of hiring.
  • Valid US Driver’s License required to regularly drive AECOM vehicles to project sites; as a condition of employment, the selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.
  • Due to the nature of the work US citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • 5 years of relevant experience preferred.
Additional Information
  • Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.
  • Relocation support is not available for this position.
  • This position occasionally may require some weeknight and/or weekend work as well as overnight work.
