Overview
Senior Electrical/ Critical Systems’ Commissioning Agent – Full-time position for our New York office, with consideration for New Jersey, Philadelphia and Virginia locations.
Responsibilities- Execute building commissioning processes (new/re/retro/continuous), energy auditing and building retrofit applications.
- Support sustainability certification applications and measurement and verification techniques.
- Assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from construction sites and related documents for energy auditing actions, validation, and commissioning.
- Perform professional building and system commissioning work by researching and inspecting site conditions, equipment, resources, layout, usage, and systems to ensure conformance with rules, codes, and permits.
- Develop testing specifications and readiness plans; prepare and update checklists, punch lists, and cost estimates coordinating with owners, other disciplines, sub-consultants, and clients.
- Involved from project inception to completion for commissioning deliverables across concept development, design, procurement, integration, installation and operation.
- Assist with advanced technologies, monitoring, modeling, load calculations, and operating strategies to ensure proper installation and operation of equipment per specifications; implement future-ready building system standards.
- Verify site characteristics and provide technical assistance on commissioning and retro-commissioning of building systems including electrical switch gear, distribution, backup systems and automation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on mid- to large-sized projects, including budgets, tracking hours/expenses, materials, technical calculations, permits, and compliance documentation.
- Prepare data and visualizations (tables, charts, reports, drawings) for interpretation of complex data and findings.
- Maintain quality control, document logs of testing, and procedures for accurate measurements and reporting.
- Provide guidance and training to entry-level to mid-level commissioning staff.
- Prepare comprehensive technical reports and presentations with findings and recommendations related to design, installation, or operation issues or opportunities.
- Interact with regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and clients in a professional manner; stay current with commissioning techniques and practices.
- Adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies; fulfill additional responsibilities as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Architectural Engineering or construction-related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- 5-7+ years of relevant post-education experience in building and systems commissioning.
- Knowledge of building commissioning principles and practices and their application to project work.
- Technical knowledge of HVAC and electrical building systems.
- Essential professional licensure/certification.
- Total facilities commissioning experience preferred.
- Master’s Degree is preferred.
- Essential or enhancing professional licensure/certification.
- Knowledge of electrical system coordination and software such as SKM, E-Tap, E-Z Power for Short Circuit/Coordination/Arc Flash programs.
Compensation:
Expected Salary (all locations): $99,800 - $135,300. WSP provides a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, disability, life, retirement savings, paid time off, parental leave, and other leave.
