About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor Engineer to join our team in Alexandria, Egypt. In this role, you will be responsible for managing all financial aspects of construction projects, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to budgets.

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects
  • Analyse costs, value, and risks associated with tenders and contracts
  • Conduct feasibility studies to estimate materials, time, and labour costs
  • Prepare bills of quantities and other tender documents
  • Manage, analyse, and report on commercial and contractual aspects throughout the project lifecycle
  • Negotiate and agree on interim valuations, claims, and final accounts
  • Advise on procurement strategy and contractual procedures
  • Allocate work to subcontractors and manage subcontractor accounts
  • Identify, analyse, and develop responses to commercial risks
  • Provide cost advice and forecasting throughout the construction process
  • Ensure compliance with local building regulations and standards
What do we need from you
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in quantity surveying or cost engineering
  • Rail projects experience is a must
  • Proficiency in quantity surveying software
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills
  • Excellent knowledge of construction methods and materials
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM)
  • Strong contract administration skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills
