Energy Modeler – NYC (Hybrid/Remote)
Base pay range: $70,000 - $90,000 per year

- Develop detailed whole‑building energy models using eQuest, ensuring accuracy in system representation, schedules, and envelope parameters.
- Conduct hygrothermal simulations in WUFI to evaluate moisture transfer, thermal behavior, and envelope performance.
- Prepare and document energy modeling pathways in accordance with ASHRAE 90.1 Appendix G, local energy code (NYC/NY State), and relevant sustainability frameworks (LEED, Passive House, etc.).
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and architectural teams to interpret design documents and incorporate system updates into models.
- Analyze model results to identify energy conservation measures (ECMs) and provide recommendations to design teams and clients.
- Assist in the preparation of reports, documentation, and presentations for internal reviews, permitting, and certification submittals.
- Stay current with evolving industry standards, simulation tools, and best practices in energy performance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- Experience with eQuest, WUFI, and ASHRAE appendix G.
- Proven experience working with eQuest and WUFI in a professional setting.
- Strong understanding of ASHRAE 90.1, especially Appendix G performance modeling requirements.
- Familiarity with NYC/NY State energy codes and green building standards.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret results and clearly communicate findings.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
- Experience with other simulation tools (IES VE, Open Studio/Energy Plus, THERM, or similar).
- LEED AP, CEM, or other industry certifications.
- Experience supporting decarbonization studies, electrification analyses, or life‑cycle carbon modeling.
