The Windchill Subject Matter Expert (SME) is responsible for supporting secure integrations, data extraction, and workflow optimization between Windchill and external platforms such as Palantir and Snowflake. This role involves handling engineering data, ensuring compliance with ITAR/EAR regulations, and contributing to quality documentation processes. The SME will collaborate with cross-functional teams, participate in workshops, and provide expertise during testing and validation phases.
Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with architects and data engineers to design and validate secure integrations between Windchill and Palantir via Snowflake.
- Define and oversee extraction of engineering data, drawings, and requirements from Windchill for ingestion into Snowflake.
- Ensure accurate conversion of Windchill documents (e.g., CAD drawings, PDFs) for downstream consumption.
- Contribute to modular workflows for quality documentation interrogation and NCR disposition.
- Participate in design workshops, Show & Tell sessions, and provide clarifications on Windchill processes.
- Ensure adherence to ITAR/EAR and other compliance requirements during document movement and indexing.
- Support SIT/UAT phases by validating data integrity and process flows involving Windchill.
- Provide detailed process documentation and assist in knowledge transfer for steady-state operations.
- Deep knowledge of Windchill PLM system, including data models, workflows, and document management.
- Experience integrating Windchill with external platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Palantir) using ETL or API-based approaches.
- Familiarity with CAD drawings, BOMs, and requirements documents within Windchill.
- Understanding of ITAR/EAR and secure data handling practices.
- Ability to work with cross‑functional teams (IT, Engineering, Quality) and participate in workshops.
- Exposure to AI/ML-driven workflows or LLM enablement for document interrogation.
- Familiarity with Azure Data Factory and Snowflake pipelines.
- Understanding of NCR processes and quality management systems.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management.
- Ability to work independently and in a fast‑paced environment.
