Senior Hydrogeologist

You’ll collaborate closely with clients and communities to design sustainable, cost‑effective systems that contribute to cleaner environments and healthier communities.

Responsibilities
  • Lead complex hydrogeologic investigations with a focus on complex geological settings commonly found in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic region (e.g., fractured rock, coastal plain).
  • Oversee data collection, processing, analysis, and interpretation, including building complex, dynamic Conceptual Site Models.
  • Develop and oversee high-resolution site characterization strategies.
  • Use modern Remediation Hydrogeology concepts (such as mass flux/discharge or DNAPL assessment) to develop complex groundwater remediation strategies.
  • Field groundwater level and quality data collection methods.
  • Familiarity with design, construction, and development of groundwater monitoring wells.
  • Develop geologic and hydrogeologic cross-sections utilizing geologic and geophysical data.
  • Geospatial and geostatistical analysis.
  • Interpret subsurface aquifer conditions on a site and regional scale.
  • Develop hydro graphs and other graphic presentations of hydrogeologic data.
  • Lead assessment of groundwater contaminant plume dynamics and make recommendations for management and/or remediation.
  • Be viewed as a technical expert with recognized authority in an area of specialization that resolves problems of greater scope and complexity.
  • Project management: direction of junior staff, providing technical review and oversight, client interaction, and presentations.
  • Report and proposal preparation including scopes of work, project budgeting, tracking, and schedules.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in Geology, Geosciences, Hydrogeology, Engineering, or closely related field.
  • Experience conducting hydrogeologic assessments and updating conceptual site models at active, inactive, and abandoned mine sites or projects.
  • Experience implementing passive and/or active water treatment systems.
  • Experience implementing and assessing flow control structures.
  • Experience with directional drilling into mine workings and fault zone structures.
  • 40‑hour HAZWOPER, 30‑hour OSHA Construction, and MSHA 40‑hour Underground Miner training.
  • Local candidates preferred.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies, Hydrology, Civil Engineering, Water Resources or closely related field.
  • 10 or more years of analysis, modeling and design and management experience.
  • Project management skills a plus.

Expected compensation range depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full‑time regular positions. Temporary and part‑time roles eligible for limited benefits.) Woodcliff Lake, NJ: $138,388 – $197,625;
New York, NY: $138,388 – $197,625;
Pennington, NJ: $127,271 – $181,815.
