Electrical Engineer
Duration: 12 Months
DescriptionThis position is for a lead Engineering Services and Support technician who is under minimal supervision. Performs complex technical tasks which contribute to the planning and execution of engineering projects. Leads lower‑level support staff to confer with engineers on details and implications of test procedures and results. May serve as a resource on varied tasks.
Key Responsibilities- Maintenance Mechanic will provide Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) & Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) support to the HVAC Commercial Engineering team in Syracuse, NY.
- Maintain and upgrade electrical equipment and wiring to support LCML test lab efforts
- Troubleshoot electrical components and controls
- Coordinate maintenance and repairs with lab technicians, engineers, and management to minimize testing downtime
- Modify equipment as needed for unique test applications
- Moderate to complex electrical troubleshooting & problem solving
- Installation of equipment to support psychrometric testing and capital upgrades
- AA/AS degree, Technical/Business School Certificate or Diploma, Skilled Trades Apprenticeship, or other post high school training (Six‑months to two years duration).
- (Equivalent work experience will be considered)
- Minimum 10 years HVAC or maintenance experience.
- OSHA 10 Hour Construction EH&S Certified.
- Able to lead electrical maintenance efforts and operate independently.
- Coach / mentor other maintenance mechanics on electrical issues
- Knowledge of electrical power distribution, associated components, low voltage control, ability to read schematics and troubleshooting components.
- Ability to communicate effectively and comply with all EH&S Procedures
- Intermediate skills level with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- EH&S regulation and compliance knowledge
- Experience utilizing power tools and equipment affectively and safely
Power industrial trucks, scissor & aerial lifts, crane, and rigging.
